    • Removed requirement to solve 3 circuits correctly in a row. Now student must solve 3 correctly, not necessarily in a row.
    • Retention has been added so the student can solve one or more circuits and logout and come back to the Challenge later to finish accruing their lightning bolts
    • Calculator video was added to show how to Store and Recall values
    • More instructions were added to the Practice tutorials as well as adding a tutorial to Lesson 10 Final Circuit Assessment to assist students that bypass the DC content and “test out” of DC Theory.

Want to locate these changes on your own and not have to refer to this blog post? Most CML courses have a “Module Change Control Document” located in the Instructor Resources area of each course. This document outlines what change(s) have been made and even shows images of the changes where applicable.

NEWLY RELEASED!

Conduit System Fabrication 1 – CML

This new course is the first part of a two-part series that will ultimately replace the blended learning conduit titles:

  • Conduit Bending, Level I – All Editions
  • Conduit Bending, Level II – All Editions

This first entry, designed to be delivered in the 1st year of apprenticeship, is intended to instruct an electrical worker in the basic concepts of conduit bending. Beginning lessons will introduce the common types of conduits, fittings, and tools used in fabricating conduit systems, as well as the equipment and procedures used for cutting and threading conduit. The course will then detail the procedures for several different methods for hand-bending various angles and bends in metallic conduit. It will close with a discussion of underground conduit installations. Labs, activities, and video resources are included throughout the training and are collected at the end of the course for review. The 2nd course in the series is currently in development and will be available in early 2024. It expands on the foundational knowledge to demonstrate more advanced mechanical, electric and hydraulic driven bending equipment and techniques.

Details:

This first course in the new CML series includes 8 total lessons, the first 6 being course content, training and quizzing and the final 2 as resources and labs.

  1. Raceways and Conduit Systems
  2. Cutting and Threading Conduit
  3. Hand Bending 90 Degree Bends
  4. Hand Bending Offsets and kicks
  5. Hand Bending Saddles and Corner Offsets
  6. Underground Conduit Installation
  7. Resources
    • This resource lesson centralizes all video resources which are a part of the course as well as supplemental “nice to know” video resources.
  8. Support – Labs (All 23 labs associated with the J204L Lab Manual are included here)
    • By combining the labs inside the course, the learner can see the relevance in step with the training without having to carry an additional book.

The conduit training continues to be supported by the S495 Conduit Bending and Fabrication textbook.

Webinars have also been created to discuss the course and to answer any questions. Please feel free to sign up for one at your convenience. This will be open to all Training Directors, Assistant Training Directors, and instructors.
