There was an issue with the LMS communication system today whereby our testing server generated notifications of certifications for a few of our internal testing users that were then sent to only those users who are Instructors. The notification email should not have been sent out. Please disregard the email notifications pertaining to the “Introduction to Preplanning Certificate”. We apologize for the error and the interruption.
New courses have been made available over the last few days.
Three courses added are a continuation of the new Code topic pathway specifically for those apprentices who started 1st year using the latest catalog (2017). The new courses are for that group’s 2nd year of Code training.
The new Voice-Data-Video Systems Applications and Installation, Level I course was completed and made available.
A new Code Calculations, Complete course was made available for use in training learners on NEC® related math for those outside the apprenticeship.

In 2017, the electrical training ALLIANCE announced that a new leadership course would be available on January 1, 2018. This course is now ready for your utilization. It is a product of our industry’s realization that it is no longer adequate for our Apprentices to be trained only in technical skills. A recently completed project was to add the Electronic Systems Labs to the LMS — both the Student and Instructor Guide versions. They are located with the lessons where the labs are indicated for use. (more…)
Internet outages were reported across the US on Monday, 11/06/17. Reports began coming into sites like downdetector.com starting at roughly 1pm EDT and continuing until a bit after 4pm EDT. Reports after 4pm EDT indicated the outage issues were identified and corrected. Our LMS sites were at all times running smoothly, if you could access. Two users sitting next to each other may have had different experiences with access to this and many major sites across the internet, based on the kind of outage that occurred. This outage affected one of the major internet communication backbones.

Director, Bill Ball shared a very enlightening article yesterday with staff from vox.com. It’s an interesting look at the construction and history of the internet. It also explains much of what some of yesterday’s activities and investigations realized when looking for answers to why the internet was acting up.
We know how important these services are and will continue as always to monitor and communicate regarding site access.
