LMS Response Times Slowed for Some Users
On Wednesday, October 24th, from 9:35pm to 10:08pm Eastern, the LMS system showed increased response times which caused pages to display much slower than normal for some users. Our monitors sensed the increase and the teams immediately went to work to identify the issue. We are very sorry for the issues this may have caused.
Media Closed, but Not Forgotten
This message is to bring a bit of clarity to the recent changes (media file closings and removals) that were made to the system to resolve the timeout issues experienced by the LMS a few weeks ago.
We have thousands of media clips and interactive animations placed throughout the system in various lessons and courses. (more…)
Recent LMS Performance and Resources
The development teams and etA staff have been working to resolve the recent 522 errors that users have been experiencing during the busy usage times of the day. After Labor Day, system usage numbers have set new records for the number of users per day and concurrently. The system itself is working pretty effortlessly to handle the traffic as it was built to exceed current and relative future numbers for use of the system. The issue causing the poor performance has been located and it (more…)
Blended Learning LMS Performance Question
The Learning Management System has experienced long response times for some users of the system recently. The symptoms display a connection error where for some they see that the Cloudflare CDN is inaccessible and others see that the blendedlearning.njatc.org site is inaccessible. Typically a quick refresh by the user clears the issue.
This is not the expected performance of the system and the teams are working around the clock to resolve the issue. We are very sorry for this inconvenience and will update with new information as soon as it is available.
New Training Management System for LMS Enrollments Arrives
The new enrollment system used for the Learning Management System (LMS) has been, at long last, deployed. We have been working on exciting enhancements and added functionality across the entire application to better support your management of the Blended Learning Training. Internet outage for some, and for a while, on Monday, 11/6/2017
Internet outages were reported across the US on Monday, 11/06/17. Reports began coming into sites like downdetector.com starting at roughly 1pm EDT and continuing until a bit after 4pm EDT. Reports after 4pm EDT indicated the outage issues were identified and corrected. Our LMS sites were at all times running smoothly, if you could access. Two users sitting next to each other may have had different experiences with access to this and many major sites across the internet, based on the kind of outage that occurred. This outage affected one of the major internet communication backbones.
Here are some articles that covered the incident: Click on one/each to read details of the outage and resolution.
Director, Bill Ball shared a very enlightening article yesterday with staff from vox.com. It’s an interesting look at the construction and history of the internet. It also explains much of what some of yesterday’s activities and investigations realized when looking for answers to why the internet was acting up.
We know how important these services are and will continue as always to monitor and communicate regarding site access.
