The new electrical training ALLIANCE 2020 Training Essentials catalog is now available from the electrical training ALLIANCE website. When you are ready and the time is right – Planning can start now for the next school year. To access and download the catalog, log in to the member’s area of the site. Once there, click on the Resources tab and then click the Downloads link. You will find the Catalog as a list item and from there both the current catalogs as well as the new ones are there for downloading. — As a reminder: Placing orders from the new catalog may not begin until July 2020. Orders needing to be placed before then need to be made using the 2019 catalog.
What to Look For:
Once you have accessed the catalog, be sure to spend a little time with what we fondly call the “Front Matter.” The first page is an important message from Executive Director, Todd Stafford. Then, there are a number of pages that outline all of the updates to the 2020 calendar curriculum and catalog.
Including:
-
- Program updates and highlights
- New courses and resources
- The new Core Curriculum rollout for the Installer/Technician and the Residential Programs
- Additional eBook offerings for 2020
- Important catalog features, fonts, and symbology to help your review
- Communications on industry changes, if any, to the curriculum for each program and year
- Updates to new tools and components to support your curriculum delivery
- Explanations of the CLCS, Bookstore, Test Generator, and much more
Also, Be on the Lookout For:
Beyond the Front Matter are all of the most important suspects expected from the catalog.
Suspect | Description |
---|---|
Table of Contents | Is a description of this really needed? Let’s just go with, it’s everything you would hope it to be. |
Kit Pages | Check out these pages for all of the needed materials for each year of apprenticeship for each specific program respectively. Each individual page is dedicated to a single year of apprenticeship for the Program (Outside, Inside, Installer/Tech, Residential, Substation, or Traffic Signal). The courses, the materials, the session and enrollment fees, and previously purchased materials that are still needed are all listed. |
Topic Pages | All Topics of training are covered alphabetically with all of the available resources and tools. The Item Codes, fees, any prerequisites, and images are all neatly placed for your review. — Especially useful when devising additional training offerings or customizing your Core Curriculum |
Resources | Access to information and components to support your training delivery |
Trainers | Here you’ll find a rundown of the Hands-On Manuals and Lab Components that are available to augment your educational training with skills training and assessing. |
Order Forms | Again, likely these need no introduction or description, but for those looking to complete orders via Fax, we have you covered. |
When the time allows and the need arises, we wanted to provide you with the means to plan. We do want you to note that there are some items we list in the new catalog that are yet to be completed. However, in support of when you are ready for planning, the team worked hard to get this catalog and other information ready. A couple of those pieces the team got ready are the updated CLCS worksheets. Now available for view in the CLCS are the new 2020-21 Roadmap and Catalog views. Even better, now with the updated Bookstore, the Admin can grant access to this area via the new purchaser and viewer user roles. — for info on that see this post
Within the dropdown for each program, a Roadmap (the recommended courses an apprentice would need to complete to meet the requirements for completing that apprenticeship program) and a Catalog View (a snapshot encompassing each kit page for the program) is available for review, export, and to work with.
Good luck with your planning and always know that if you ever have questions on the catalog or program info shared there, be sure to contact Customer Service
