The instrumentation curriculum has undergone a textbook revision, which resulted in the creation of the new Applied Science of Instrumentation textbook.  Along with the new textbook, 3 Blended Learning courses, for use at both the journeyman and apprentice level, have been placed into the LMS.


Apprenticeship test generator exam questions and course credit allocation will be completed soon.  Read on for descriptions of the 3 courses.


Course 1: Introduction to Instrumentation

Utilizing a self-paced course design, a student is presented key information that will assist them in learning the concepts of instrumentation once in the classroom.  This course will not have an assigned credit value, as it is designed to be reinforcement and practice.

 

 


Course 2: The Basics of Instrumentation

Provides traditional question and answer practice for key instrumentation concepts covering, drawings, calibrations, smart instruments, valves as well as flow, level pressure and temperature principles.  Combined with this practice are animations and classroom videos to further reinforce the concepts presented to the student.  The course covers Chapters 1-10 of the Applied Science Texbook.  Course credit value is coming soon.

 

 

 


Course 3: The Advanced of Instrumentation

Building on the principles presented in course 2, and utilizing the same overall format, topics such as controllers and analyzers are covered.  The course covers Chapters 11-14 of the Applied Science Textbook. Course credit value is coming soon.

 

 

 


Course lecture templates have been created and reside in the LMS Instructor Resources tab of each lesson.   These templates are in traditional power point format, allowing the instructor access to the textbook images and the ability to add text or images as they see fit to present their lecture.
