A new feature is being added to the LMS.
The Information Sheets are getting a new name and a complete conversion.
For those who taught from the printed binders and/or the workbooks, the name “Information Sheet” had special meaning. This meant that it was the reference for the lesson, but even more, it related a location to the user. The same could be said of the term “Appendices.”
- Information Sheet = Just behind the lesson
- Appendices = At the back of the book
Now with the LMS, these items are clicked on from the same location in the CourseWare each time. No longer does the term need to identify a location. The new name is …
Reference
I know what you are thinking. … This will take a great deal of getting used to — and that is why the change will take a bit of a rollout. The rollout relates to the next topic.
The References, as they get updated, are being converted to HTML pages for displaying that also include a Print icon. When selected, this will create a great looking PDF for printing.
What does this all mean?
It means that the current version of Information Sheets and Appendices are being updated to being displayed in a scrollable fashion instead of slides, and they are now capable of being printed.
The Rollout
All 2017 “New” content is being created with these updated references.
Existing courses are being updated and as soon as an entire course is ready, all clickable References are added at once.
Currently the Conduit Fabrication, Level I, course now includes the new reference style where the previous Information Sheets existed.
Other courses with online references are being continually worked on to include the new style.
